It was a busy week so I worked a few flowers in the garden. These are hard to capture because they sit so close to the house it makes for a challenge to get a nice background and the flower itself is fairly large so works better with a greater depth of field. This was the compromise, not quite enough depth of field to get all of the flower sharp, but it did smooth out the siding in the background.

Experimenting with back lighting, which is something I have always wanted to do more, but never quite seem to get the look I am attempting to capture. I always find myself quickly falling back to more traditional lighting methods. I definitely need more practice to get that “look” I am striving for, but I kinda liked this one.

As these white flowers age the they turn a slight pink color, while the petals don’t have that strong vibrant feeling to them anymore I still like the slightly wilted pink petals.
